In a brave and selfless act, a 25-year-old youth from Chaupal, Hrithik Satlaik Dhanta, risked his life to save two young girls from an oncoming toy train in Solan. Tragically, his heroic effort resulted in severe injuries, leading to the loss of one of his feet. The incident, confirmed by Additional SP Railway Traffic and Tourists Narvir Singh Rathore, occurred on Tuesday near Ward No. 13 in Solan.
According to family members, the harrowing event unfolded as Hrithik spotted the two girls on the railway tracks and immediately sprang into action. Without a moment’s hesitation, he rushed towards them to pull them to safety. However, in the process of rescuing the children, he was struck by the toy train, causing significant injuries to both of his legs.
Local residents acted swiftly, transporting Hrithik to the regional hospital in Solan for initial treatment. Recognizing the gravity of his condition, doctors quickly referred him to the prestigious PGI Chandigarh for specialized care. It was there that medical professionals made the difficult decision to amputate one of Hrithik’s legs to save his life.
Hrithik Dhanta, a dedicated worker at a private company in Deunghat, Solan, hails from Gagana village in Chaupal. While the exact circumstances leading to the accident remain unclear, his family and well-wishers eagerly await his recovery to shed light on the sequence of events.
The courageous act of Hrithik Satlaik Dhanta serves as a poignant reminder of the selflessness and bravery that can emerge in times of crisis.
