The high reaches of Lahaul-Spiti, Chamba, Kullu and Kinnaur received light to moderate snow in the last 24 hrs however it was mainly dry and sunny in the rest of the state. Also giving respite from cold weather mercury slightly improved in wee and night hours. Indian Meteorological Department in a weather bulletin issued on Friday said that Lahaul-Spiti district Hansa recorded 10 cm snowfall, Gondla two cm, Kukumseri 1.8 cm and Keylong one cm. According to met office tourist place Kufri also got 1.4 cm snowfall overnight however weather was pleasant today.
The light blanket of cloud overcast in the sky is giving major respite from the bone chilling cold wave as minimum temperature shows slight increase. Minimum temperature of Keylong was minus two degrees and four degrees above normal. It was 1.2 degrees in Kalpa ( Kinnaur), 5.8 & 6.8 degrees in Manali and Kufri, 9 and ten degrees in Shimla and Dharmshala, 2.9 and 3 .5 in Mandi and Solan, 4.6. it was 5 degrees at Hamirpur and Bilaspur and 4.4 and 9.3 in Una and Chamba and 6.3 degrees at Dalhousie.
Meanwhile, Lahaul Spiti administration have issued a weather advisory for the next 24hrs for commuters who want to visit tribal district warning that after snowfall Kaza road (NH-505) had been closed for all vehicular movement similarly Shinkula Road is also shut down. Despite having fresh light snowfall in Lahaul-Spiti district its headquarters is still accessible through Manali Leh National Highway (NH-003) which is open till Darcha and Pangi Killar Highway (SH-26) is open to all types of vehicles.

IMD also forecast light rain or snowfall likely in parts of Lahaul spiti, Kullu, Kinnaur and isolated pockets higher reaches of Kangra and Chamba during 09th to 10th December 2022 and weather may become dry thereafter.
