The declaration of pending results for 699 posts across six post codes, have been approved by the Himachal Council of Ministers (CoMs) and the State budget session will convene from March 10 next month.

In the Himachal Pradesh State Cabinet meeting, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, convened today several other key decisions across various sectors were taken. Amongst the pending results include positions such as Market Supervisor, Fireman, Drawing Master, Clerks (HP Secretariat), Lineman, and Steno-Typist.
The Cabinet also decided to recommend to the Governor to convene the budget session of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha from March 10 to March 28, 2025. Additionally, it approved a 60-day special maternity leave for female government employees in cases of stillbirth or the death of a child soon after birth.
The Cabinet took significant steps in strengthening the law enforcement and emergency response infrastructure by upgrading the Sanjauli Police Chowki to a full-fledged Police Station with the creation of 20 posts. It also approved the establishment of a new Fire Post at Nerwa in Shimla district, creating 17 new posts, and sanctioned a new Police Post at Baghi under Kotkhai Police Station, along with six posts. Furthermore, nine posts of Tehsildar in the Revenue Department and three posts in the Planning Department were approved for recruitment. It also decided to fill up three Treasury Officer posts in the Department of Treasury, Accounts, and Lotteries.
In healthcare, the Cabinet gave its nod to open a new Primary Health Centre at Basheel in Solan district, with the creation of three posts. It also approved the establishment of the Department of Nuclear Medicine at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Medical College, Nerchowk, in Mandi district, along with several faculty and technical positions. Additionally, the Cabinet sanctioned an Assistant Professor post in the Department of Immunohematology and Blood Transfusion at Dr. Y.S. Parmar Government Medical College, Nahan. A key decision was also taken to allow allopathic doctors to draw full salary during study leave within India or abroad.
The Cabinet focused on infrastructure development by approving the opening of new Jal Shakti Vibhag Divisions at Kangra and Jagatkhana in Shri Naina Devi Ji assembly constituency of Bilaspur district, along with the creation of requisite posts. It also approved a new Sub Tehsil at Loharghat in Solan district. To enhance higher education, it upgraded 16 sanctioned posts of Assistant Professor to Associate Professor in Himachal Pradesh Government Dental College, Shimla. Additionally, it approved the introduction of B.Tech courses in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science and Computer Science at Rajiv Gandhi Government Engineering College, Nagrota Bagwan, with the creation of eight posts. It also sanctioned a B.Tech (Civil Engineering) course at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Institute of Engineering and Technology, Pragatinagar, with the creation of seven posts. A new diploma course in Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) was also approved for Government Polytechnic College, Sundernagar.
Further, the Cabinet approved the categorization of all 135 existing Police Stations into six categories based on population, area, major crimes, traffic, inter-state borders, and tourist flow. Staff postings will be revised accordingly to strengthen field offices and improve services. It also sanctioned the re-organization of Namhol Sub Tehsil by incorporating eight patwar circles from Sadar tehsil in Bilaspur district.
To enhance revenue generation, the Cabinet approved an auction-cum-tender process for collecting entry tax for the financial year 2025-26, anticipating an additional revenue of Rs. 11.56 crore compared to the previous year. Additionally, it decided to implement FASTag at all entry toll barriers in a phased manner, starting with toll barriers at Garamaura (Bilaspur), Parwanoo (Main) and Tiara Bypass (Solan), Govindghat (Sirmaur), Kandwal (Nurpur), Mehatpur (Una), and Baddi (Solan).
