Several schools across Shimla, Solan, Mandi, and Kangra districts reported a 100% pass result, with students from both Kendriya Vidyalayas and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas continuing their tradition of excellence. Himachal’s share in the national tally of high achievers was notable, with a significant number of students scoring above 90% and 95% in both classes.
Nationally, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the results for over 39 lakh students, bringing cheer and relief to students and parents across the country. This year, 97.26% of students passed Class 10, while 97.76% cleared Class 12, both marking a rise from last year’s figures.
Girls across India outperformed boys in both exams, continuing a consistent trend of academic excellence. The margin stood at 1.86% in both Class 10 and Class 12 results. In Class 12, over 24,000 students scored above 95%, while more than 1.16 lakh students scored above 90%. For Class 10, more than 2.1 lakh students secured over 90%, with 47,000 crossing the 95% mark.
To discourage unhealthy competition, CBSE has once again opted not to release a merit list. However, merit certificates will be awarded to top-performing students. Approximately 1.3 lakh students have been placed in the compartment category and will have an opportunity to appear for improvement exams in July.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan congratulated students and extended support to those who may not have met expectations. “Your results don’t define your full potential,” the PM posted on X (formerly Twitter).
Students can check their results via the official website cbseresults.nic.in, DigiLocker, and the UMANG app. CBSE has also launched a counselling helpline for students dealing with post-result anxiety or stress.
Meanwhile, schools across Himachal are gearing up to hold felicitation ceremonies for toppers later this week, celebrating the remarkable achievements of the state’s young scholars.
