HP High court reader hit by car at US club in Shimla: loses life
Shimla, March 14
Hari Ram Khangta, Reader, of the HP High Court Registry, was hit by a car near ECI Chalet Day School, U.S Club, Shimla, this morning at around 9.30 AM. Khangta was on his way to office i.e. High Court of Himachal Pradesh, from his residence. He sustained serious injuries in the accident and was immediately rushed to I.G.M.C, Shimla, where doctors declared him brought dead.
After postmortem the body of the deceased was
handed over to the family members. An atmosphere of despair prevailed at the High Court after the news of the sad demise of Hari Ram Khangta reached the institution.
The Acting Chief Justice, Sabina and all other Judges of the High Court expressed deep condolences over the untimely death of a valued member of staff of High Court Registry. The Registrar General, other Registrars and Members H.P. High Court Staff Welfare Organization also expressed grief over sad demise of Late Khangta.
Hari Ram Khangta, was an honest, dedicated and disciplined officer besides being full of life and energy. He was 57 years of age. He belonged to village Astani, P.O. Samolipul, Tehsil Rohru, of district Shimla. Khangta is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.
H.P. High Court Staff Welfare Organization donated Rs. 50,000/- as interim relief to the bereaved family members.
