Himachal Pradesh Police has lodged an FIR on the complaint of Himachal Pradesh government officer for an alleged letter circulated on behalf of a Pharma association against him alleging wild allegations were leveled on him and his family members.
FIR(143/21) is registered at Police station Sadar here on Tuesday under section 505(2) of IPC creating or promoting enmity, hatred or ill-will, u/s  505(2) of IPC for intentionally insulting the complainant thereby provocation to any person, u/s 500 (defame other shall be punishable.
A police press release issued on late Tuesday said that complaint was lodged by Additional Director Department of Environment, Science, and Technology Paryavaran Bhavan Near US club Shimla Parveen Gupta  alleging that a forged, fabricated, letter has been circulated on behalf of the Baddi, Barotiwala Nalagarh Pharm and Drug Association.
The complaint further said that certain derogatory, false, baseless and wild allegations have been leveled against the complainant and his family.
The press release claimed that letter was not issued on behalf of the Baddi Barotiwala Nalagarh Pharma and Drug Association as it has been denied by them. Alleged letter has been issued by some vested interest persons, tarnishing their family image. The case has been investigated by the SHO Sadar Sandeep Choudhary now.
It is worthwhile to mention that recently too, a similar letter has been issued on the same analogy regarding the officer and his family also levelling similar wild allegations. The alleged letter in question now is reportedly addressed to Prime Minister Office, leveling similar allegations on the government top functionary pointing to lawlessness in the state Pollution Control Board and transfer of an IAS officer recently on behest of complaint. No denial have been issued by the state Government over such wild allegations which are likely to be probed with Registration of FIR.
This is third anonymous letter cum complaint figuring in the public domain which may also impact the reputation of Jai Ram Thakur Government as member of his cabinet and party leader from Solan have been also dragged into controversy. Now that matter is under investigation with state cyber cell indicates that some party functionary of Government may have been involved in that move .
It is too early to speculate that any concrete findings would come out of police investigations but the defamation case is likely to draw public attention keeping the gravity of wild allegations being made public in the anonymous letter.
This development shall not only have political ramifications moreover decline in the moral and public probity is seriously being challenged due to such letters.

Now the onus is resting on the state police how efficiently it would find out with the truth and exposed the real culprits
