HPPSC to conduct the ongoing recruitments

The Himachal Pradesh Government today dissolved the Himachal Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection (HPSSSB) after a high level departmental and police probe into the functioning and leakage of examination papers in the selection process.
Addressing media person here today Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that IAS officer Abhsaik Jain and Anti-corrouption Bureau and state vigilance IG, S. Shiva have submitted the departmental and vigilance probe report and it was established in the probe that for the last three years examinations being conducted by the HPSSSB were being leaked to a group of middlemen with connivance of the officials of the selection board. The state government have already kept the entire functioning of the board in suspension, would now be dissolved with effect from today, announced the CM stating that all the employees of board were put in surplus pool and they have been directed to give option of choice to join government office and department.
He said that implicated employees are being probed by the state SIT of ACB and SV are being booked. He said that process of recruitments being conducted by the HPSSSB Hamirpur would be now transferred to Himachal Pradesh Public Service Selection Board who would conduct the examination and tests in the ongoing recruitment processes.
Sukhu said that a verification is also being conducted for the selected employees through the board during the last three years to find out how many of them being benefited from the question paper scams. He said that completion of the process of verification, would also decide fate of such employees.
The Government could not keep such a board running which was involved in leaking question papers since last 3 years, he stated. “It has played with the future of number unemployed youth,” he added. After the probe being conducted in the last two months it was established that the board did not serve its mandate.
He said that bitter decision was taken only after finding that role of board could not be trusted any longer. He said that youth are concerned about the functioning of board as it spoiled their bright future despite they being competent and having good preparation of examinations many of them may have not been shortlisted.
He said that on December 227 it was established that more questions papers of other recruitment examinations were going to be leaked as the probe had revealed a number scams going on since three years of previous BJP government.
During SIT search at home of HPSSC Employees three questions papers including entrance examination of Junior Auditor, computer operator and future JOA (IT) examinations was recovered as Junior Auditor examination was scheduled on January 1 2023. Finding of specimen of questions paper in the house of Uma Azad posted as Superintendent indicates that the question papers was simultaneously or separately being leaked by the Employees which may be known to all other members and chairman of the Commission. SIT also recovered Rs 6.40 lakh cash during the raid . Government found that the role of employees who are being arrested and brought under probe could not be trusted anymore, and therefore the decision to scrap is the demand of the hour.
He said that all examination being conducted by the Commission in future were suspended for 35 days, will now be conducted by the HPPSC. He said that HPPSC would continue to serve the mandate of HPSSSB till the government decides otherwise.
