Shimla, July 27
The South West Monsoon system is likely to be more active in the state in next three days as Indian Meteorological department has issued a warning with Orange Aler. They have forecasted widespread, heavy to very heavy rainfall in most places of mid and foot hills in the State. Meanwhile, about around 20 incidents of landslide and six of cloudbursts have wreaked havoc as many National Highways and other roads were snapped the territorial communication and power supply.
Even though the water level in most rivers and dams are still bellow danger mark there are report of sudden increase in the water level of Jatton Dam in Sirmaur district after heavy monsoon rain. A warning is issued to people living along the Giri and Yamuna to not go near the bank of rivers as flood gates of dams are being opened.
On the rain front, Jogindernagar in Mandi had 54 mm rain, Jatton barrage-37 mm, Renuka in Sirmaur 25 mm, Manali-24 mm Kothi & Khadrala-22 mm each, Kalpa & Banjar-12 mm each, Mehre & Saharan-11 each.
The monsoon rain lashed many places in past 24 hrs. State disaster management authority said that landslide occurred at Nehru Kund Manali in Kullu, Flash Flood occurred at Thangi, Tehsil Moorang of Kinnaur district which washed away irrigation kuhl & the main water source was damaged. Flashflood caused the Loss 5.00 Lac.
In last 24 hrs 20 roads disrupted by the monsoon rain, 110 Power transmission lines and ten water supply schemes.
Met office said that the State recorded about 282.6 mm rain since July 1 compared to normal monsoon rain of 321mm (21 per cent deficient). Including 500 Cr revenue loss monsoon taken 125 human lives so far.
