IMD issues Yellow alert for Himachal Pradesh: Anticipating rain and snow from Nov 9 onward

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for certain regions of Himachal Pradesh, warning of an impending spell of snowfall in the high-altitude areas and rainfall in the lower-lying regions starting from November 9 to November 11.
As per the latest weather bulletin released by the IMD, a Western Disturbance (WD) is expected to become active in Himachal Pradesh from tomorrow onwards. This WD is likely to result in the probability of rain and snowfall in the mountainous regions, leading to inclement weather conditions over the next four days, commencing on November 8. However, adverse weather conditions are expected only in select areas. On November 9 and 11, a yellow alert has been issued for widespread rain and snowfall across various parts of the state, raising concerns for residents and travelers.
The Meteorological Center in Shimla has predicted potential snowfall on the higher peaks of Lahaul Spiti, Chamba, Mandi, Shimla, Kullu, and Kinnaur districts.
Key temperature readings in various locations across Himachal Pradesh include Keylong: 0.1 degrees (Lahaul Spiti), Kalpa: 2.2 degrees (Kinnaur), Manali: 4 degrees, Narkanda: 4.8 degrees, Shimla: 9 degrees, Jubberhati Airport: 11.4 degrees, Solan: 5.8 degrees, Mandi: 6 degrees, Kufri: 7.4 degrees, Chamba: 7.8 degrees, Dalhousie: 8 degrees, Kangra and Bilaspur: 10.4 degrees, Una: 10.8 degrees, Dharmshala: 12 degrees and Nahan: 14.2 degrees
