Incessant rains prompt holiday declaration for Himachal Pradesh Courts on July 11
Shimla, July 10
In light of the ongoing hardships faced by litigants, lawyers, staff, and judicial officers due to incessant rains, the authorities have announced a holiday for the Himachal Pradesh High Court and all Courts of District Judiciary in the state of Himachal Pradesh on 11th July 2023. Earlier this morning, an holiday was announced for today.
To accommodate these holidays, alternative non-working days will be designated as a working day in the future for the High Court of Himachal Pradesh.
“All concerned parties are requested to take note of this announcement. District and Sessions Judges are urged to inform the general public, litigants, and advocates through their respective Bar Associations in the state of Himachal Pradesh,” state the media communiqué.
Regarding matters in the District Judiciary, the next hearing date will be notified, and parties are allowed to mention their cases earlier in case of urgency.
Presiding Judicial Officers in the District Judiciary are advised to exercise discretion and inform the next hearing date in their respective courts, it stated.
