It is for the central government to reduce the GST rates on apple cartons, said Horticulture Minister Mahendra Singh Thakur. He said that to give relief to the gardeners, the state government has decided to give a rebate of 6 per cent on GST.
To avail GST on packaging material procured from HPMC and open market, gardeners will have to submit GST payment bills of cartons and trays, records of cash memos and Aadhaar linked bank accounts. Whereafter, they will be given the benefit of this exemption, he added.
