Kinnaur Admin postpones Kinnar Kailash Yatra
Shimla, July 21

Monsoon fury in Himachal Pradesh has forced the Kinnaur district administration to reschedule the Kinnar Kailash Yatra, which was initially planned to take place from August 1, 2023, to August 15, 2023. Due to adverse weather conditions, the yatra has been postponed and will now be held from August 15 to September 1, 2023. The decision was announced in a notification issued by the SDM Kalpa from Recong-peo today.

The district administration has emphasized that this rescheduling is subject to review depending on the changing weather conditions in the region. The safety and well-being of the participants are of paramount importance, and any further adjustments will be made accordingly.

In addition to the Kinnar Kailash Yatra, the District Administration Shimla has also taken precautionary measures in response to the persistent rainfall conditions. They have suspended the Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra, which had commenced on July 7, 2023.

These decisions come in light of the ongoing monsoon rains in the state, which have led to concerns about the safety of the pilgrims and tourists visiting these areas. The authorities are closely monitoring the weather situation and will take further actions as necessary to ensure the welfare of the public.
