Leaving no stone unturned during HP polls, BJP turns to uniform civil code in the last leg of HP poll campaign. The ruling BJP has promised to implement the Uniform Civil Code after coming to power again in Himachal Pradesh. The party, which was playing the soft Hindutava card, took a hard stance in this last leg of polls while releasing the party Manifesto here on Sunday. Party Star campaigner and Union Home Minister Amit Shah also announced in a campaign meeting at Jaswan Pragpur in Kangra district on Sunday that BJP would implement UCC in the state on similar lines like the Central government came up with Citizen Amendment Act.
After releasing the Sankalp Patra, BJP National President Nadda, while reffering to a number of waqf board properties under litigation, stated that the UCC should be implemented to end such unnecessary courtroom fights.
Nadda’s gesture is apparent and has also put forward the agenda of the BJP. The party had also announced in a press conference that UCC might figure in the ‘Darishtipatr’, the party Manifesto.
