A significant fire erupted earlier today in a wooden carving house located in Kumarsain, within the Shimla district. Chief Fire Officer of Shimla confirmed the incident, stating that the blaze originated in a residential property owned by Kuldeep Mehta, a resident of Batauti village in Kumarsain, around 0900 hrs on Tuesday.
The fire primarily affected the top floor of the three-story house. Prompt action was taken as a fire tender was dispatched to the location to extinguish the inferno, successfully bringing it under control and preventing further damage to the remaining stories of the house.
Preliminary assessments indicate a substantial loss exceeding Rs 30 lakh. The third floor of the house was tragically reduced to ashes, while the second floor suffered partial damage.
Authorities suspect that the fire was caused by a short circuit. Both police and local administration officials have arrived at the scene to assess the extent of the damage and investigate the incident further.
