Shimla, June 12
A 36-year-old man from Chhattisgarh, identified as Kaushal Kumar, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself near a flour mill on the outskirts of Kangra town on Tuesday, police reported. Kaushal, who had been residing in Kangra for the past 23 years, was found in his room by authorities. He lived in Kangra with his wife and five daughters.
Kangra sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Ankit Sharma confirmed the incident, stating that the police did not recover any suicide note at the scene. SDPO Sharma also mentioned that a preliminary investigation was conducted, and the statements of family members and other witnesses were recorded. The police have sent the body to Tanda Medical College for a post-mortem examination to determine the precise cause of death.
The tragic incident has cast a pall over the local community, with many expressing shock and sorrow at the untimely death of Kaushal Kumar. Residents described him as a quiet individual who kept to himself and was devoted to his family. The reasons behind his drastic action remain unclear, and the police are continuing their investigation to uncover any potential factors that may have led to his suicide.
In the meantime, the grieving family is grappling with the loss. Support from the community and local authorities is being extended to them during this difficult period. The investigation is ongoing, and the police have assured that they will thoroughly examine all aspects to provide a clear understanding of the circumstances surrounding Kaushal Kumar’s death.
