Massive fire in Baddi factory, one dead 31 injured

One died and 31 other factory workers sustained burn injuries today after a devastating fire mishap in NR Aroma industry at Jharnajari near Industrial township Baddi under Nalagarh Subdivision in Solan district.
Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Social Justice and Empowerment and Labor and Employment, Colonel Dr. Dhaniram Shandil reached the spot as soon as he received information about the fire incident.
Colonel Dhani Ram Shandil said that one person died in the mishap and 31 injured. He said that complete information about nine missing workers are yet to be received.
He said that fire broke out around 1330 hrs on Friday. Soon after the mishap fire fighting team safely rescued 32 trapped workers out of which, six injured were rushed to ESI hospital Baddi, two at Baddi hospital, 19 persons were admitted to local private hospital while six seriously injured persons were referred to PGIMR Chandigarh.
Since the fire broke out at around 1.30 pm, most of the workers have come out from the industrial unit thereby preventing the major loss of human lives.
However, it was being said that the factory management has not provided complete details concerning the workers trapped inside; the exact number of workers could only be ascertained only after completion of fire extinguishing operations.
Rescue and relief operations was carried out in presence of Chief Parliamentary Secretary Ramkumar Chaudhary.
District Magistrate Solan Manmohan Sharma said that, Fire Team Baddi, Parwanoo, Nalagarh, Solan.are deployed to control the inferno apart from them rescue person belongs to Home Guard & Civil Defence, 11th Bn, District Solan, NDRF team consisting of 22 Jawans, Health Department, deployed ine dozen , (108) ambulance (including three industry ambulances). Jawan from the Police Department , official of Revenue Department
and Army Team from Chandi Mandir, Panchkula assisted to control the fire.
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu expressed concern on this unfortunate incident and prayed early recovery of the injuried.
State government also ordered to conduct the magisterial probe to investigate this incident. Based on the investigation report, legal action would be taken against the culprits.
Shandil said that instructions have been given to the health department for proper treatment of the injured.
He said that relief and rescue work will continue until complete information about the workers and others working in this industry is received.
According to Superintendent of Police of Revenue District Baddi, Ilma Afroz FIR has been registered against the management of the said industry for this unfortunate incident in Police Station Barotiwala.
