Shimla, Jan 8
The Himachal Pradesh police on Sunday said that they were making all efforts to trace the tourist from Uttar Pradesh, who went missing from Manikaran valley of Kullu district on December 31.
According to police, Abhinav Mingwal, resident of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, had come here to celebrate New Year. He was staying at Kasol in a hotel, from where he went missing on the last day of 2022.
Digamber Singh, father of Abhinav, said that his son had called him through Whatsapp at 1400 hrs on December 31. The 27-year-old had reached Parvati Valley of Kullu on December 28 and planned to return on January 2, added the father.
However, Abhinav neither contacted his family, nor returned home. His phone has remained switched off since January 1, said Lieutenant Colonel Ashish Negi, Abhinav’s elder brother.
Later, the family approached the police for help, which conducted a search operation in the area to trace Abhinav, but could not found him, so far.
