Nine families render home less after major fire in Kullu dist
Shimla, Dec 15
A major fire on Thursday in Deuri Patela village of Sainj tehsil of Banjar sub-division of Kullu district, took toll of houses of 9 families as were completely reduced to ashes. Also houses of six other families were partially damaged.
The fire broke out around 0730hrs on Thursday. Rescue team of police and fire brigade rushed to the spot immediately after receiving information about fire.
According to Deputy Commissioner Kullu the infernos spreading towards other nearby wooden houses was brought under control by the fire tender with help of local people.
As soon as information about the fire was received, Additional District Magistrate Ashwini Kumar, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Banjar Hemchand Verma and Tehsil Hiralaldar reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations.
ADM said that nine families rendered homeless in the bone chilling coldwave were shifted to makeshift safe places. Additional District Magistrate said that the district administration provided an immediate relief of Rs 25,000 each, two tarpaulins and blankets, ration and one tent each as immediate relief to nine completely affected families.  Apart from this, the District Red Cross Society has also provided an amount of Rs 30,000 each to 9 completely affected families.
Whereas the partially affected families have been provided an amount of Rs 10,000 each by the district administration and Rs 10,000 each by the Red Cross Society.
Among the fully affected families, Purna Chand son of Uttam Ram, Vihari Lal son of Mohar Singh, Chamanlal son of Bhagirath, Chunilal son of Bhagirath, Bhagirath son of Jhabe Ram, Davinder Singh son of Bhagirath, Bir Singh son of Bhagirath, Girdhari Lal son of Mohar Singh and Yashpal son of Uttam Ram.
Those partially affected include Kishan Chand son of Uday Ram, Nirat Singh son of Gulab Chand, Ghanshyam son of Gulab Chand, Nirmala Devi wife of Rajendra Pal, Narayan Singh son of Paras Ram and Kalu Devi wife of Paras Ram.
