The Himachal Pradesh Government today notified no Water bill for the domestic use of rural consumers with effect from May 1. 2023. Vikas Labroo, Secretary (JSV ) of the Himachal Pradesh government, said here today that notification was issued by the Governor (Himachal) in the exercise of powers vested under section 5 of Himachal Pradesh Water Supply Act, 1986 ( Act No.8 of 1969). Secretary said that the consumers in the state’s rural areas shall be provided free domestic water supply w.e.f 01-05-2022, and no bill shall be charged after this date.
It is worthwhile to mention that Jai Ram Thakur Government, during statehood function at Solan, recently announced the same on the analogy of AAP Govt at Delhi, which was also approved by the Council of Ministers last week.
