Shimla, May 18
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address two crucial election rallies in Himachal Pradesh on May 24, 2024, to bolster support for BJP candidates in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The BJP currently holds three MP seats in the state, making these elections highly significant for the ruling party.
The first rally will take place at Chaugan Maidan in Nahan at 1100 hrs, supporting Suresh Kashyap, the BJP candidate. Abhayari Lal Sharma, the State General Secretary, will oversee the event. This rally is critical for Kashyap, who faces a competitive race in his constituency.
Later, at 1300 hrs, the Prime Minister will address another rally at Paddal Maidan in Mandi, campaigning for Kangana Ranaut, the BJP candidate. Ranaut’s high-profile candidacy draws considerable attention, especially as she contests against Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh, the current Public Works Minister and son of six-time Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh. Dr. Sikander Kumar, Rajya Sabha MP, is in charge of this meeting.
Both rallies are expected to attract large crowds, with each venue anticipating around 35,000 attendees. These events form a part of the BJP’s strategic efforts to solidify its position in Himachal Pradesh. The Prime Minister’s visit underscores the state’s importance in the BJP’s election strategy and aims to energize the party base and persuade undecided voters.
These rallies highlight the significant electoral battles in Himachal Pradesh and the BJP’s commitment to securing victories in these key constituencies ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
