The case came to light on June 21 during a Shiksha Samvad programme held at the school, where several girl students first raised complaints to the school principal. This prompted an urgent meeting of the school’s Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) on sexual harassment, in which both students and parents participated. The victims alleged that the teacher had been using obscene language and indulging in inappropriate behavior for some time.
After hearing the complaints, the school administration reported the matter to the police. An FIR was lodged at Rajgarh police station, and the teachers was taken into custody the same day. He was presented in court on June 23 and sent to three-day police remand for custodial interrogation.
SP Sirmaur NS Negi said the accused’s past service record is being scrutinized, and the investigation will be conducted thoroughly. Meanwhile, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Rajgarh visited the school to assure parents of strict action, helping to calm tensions.
Deputy Director of Higher Education, Sirmaur, Dr.Himander Bali, confirmed that the Directorate of Education has suspended the accused TGT (Non-Medical). The suspension order was issued via official email and includes directions for a detailed departmental probe by the Deputy Director of Elementary Education.
