The CBI booked as many as 27 educational institutions in the multicore scholarship scam as three charge sheets have been filled by them against the owners and employees of 11 private institutions, was stated by Education Minister Govind Singh.
Replying to a query by Ram Lal Thakur (Shri Naina Deviji) regarding the scholarship scam, Minister said that the prima facie complaint was made by the government regarding this scam in the scholarships given to the students of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in private educational institutions. Adding that FIR has been lodged by the Education Department under sections 409, 419, 465, 466 and 471 of IPC on Nov 16, 2018, at East Police Station Shimla and after this, this case was transferred by the Himachal Pradesh Government to the Central Bureau of Investigation. The Central Bureau of Investigation is still on; moreover, three charge sheets have been framed by the CBI against the owners and employees of 11 private institutions in the special CBI court, Shimla.
Minister also informed that out of 27 private institutions 19 belonged to the state and eight were situated in the other states. Group of Institution Pandoga, Una, ASAMS Education Group, Fathepur and Nahan, APG Shimla University, Kaushal Vikas Samiti, SDS Education Group, Una, Arni University, Kathgad, Kangra, Dev Bhoomi Group of Institutes, Chandpur, Una, NIELIT centre Kangra, Nahan and Una, Bahara University, Waknaghat, Solan, Indus International University, Una, Shia Institute of Engineering and Technology, Bilaspur, IEC University Baddi and Skill Development Society Kangra, ITFT Education Group, Chandigarh, Vidya Jyoti Group Of Institute, Mohali, K.C. Group of Institutions, Sukhjinder Group of Institutes, Punjab, ICL Group of Colleges, Haryana, Apex Institute of Management, Haryana, Chandigarh University Gharon, Mohali, and Sukhjinder Group of Institutes, Mohali.
