A eight-day Vajra Guru Mantra chant concluded at Rarang in Kinnaur district, marking the 90th birthday celebrations of Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama. RP Negi a resident of the area informed that the event, held from August 27 to September 3 at Tashi Choeling Buddhist Monastery, was led by Chogon Rinpoche Tenzin Choekyi Gyatso in the presence of local deity Pathoro Dombar.

On September 2, devotees also observed the 27th Mahaparinirvana Day of Ga Rinpoche Shedrup Choekyi Nyima. Rinpoche delivered discourses on Gyal-stras Lag-len by Acharya Asang and offered long-life empowerment blessings, informed negi. Adding, that the Rinpoche urged devotees to protect nature, seek virtue, and promote peace and prosperity.
Hundreds of lamas, jomos, and devotees from across Kinnaur participated. The concluding day featured cultural performances, including the traditional Singhe dance and school children’s presentations. The event was organized by the Vajra Guru Seva Committee and villagers of Rarang.
