
Shimla, Sep 14, Himachal Pradesh Police claimed 3it have rescued two youths who have lost in Churdhar during pilgrimage after launching midnight rescue operation
On the night of September 13, 2026, the Shimla Police 112 Control Room received information that some pilgrims returning from the Churdhar pilgrimage had lost their way in the forest and were unable to determine their location.
Upon receiving the information, a team from the Chopal Police Station immediately launched a search and rescue operation at night in the rugged and densely forested Churdhar region. Despite the darkness and challenging conditions, the police team persisted with the search.
After an arduous effort, the police team successfully rescued two young men from the forest near Patal Khad around midnight. Meanwhile, information was received that two other pilgrims—a couple—had also lost their way. Continuing the operation, the police team located and safely rescued them as well within the Churdhar area.

All four pilgrims were accommodated at a safe location and are currently being escorted back to safety by the police team.
