He said the championship is being organized not merely as a sporting competition but as a social campaign to inspire youth to adopt a disciplined and healthy way of life. Through sports, the administration aims to provide young people with a positive environment that fosters teamwork, fitness, self-confidence, and constructive engagement.
To ensure broad participation and identify the best talent, district-level selection trials are being conducted to constitute three volleyball teams that will represent Shimla district in the prestigious tournament.
The championship carries attractive cash prizes, with the winning team receiving ₹1 lakh, the runners-up Rs 50,000, and the third-placed team Rs 25,000 along with trophies and medals. Quarterfinalist teams will also be rewarded. Special prizes would be presented to the best attacker, blocker, setter, and libero.
The administration would provide travel allowance, daily allowance, and accommodation facilities to participating players. Officials believe the tournament would serve as an effective platform to motivate the younger generation towards sports, healthy living, and a drug-free future.
