Three persons including a tractor driver and two labourers died on the spot at Panalath village under Jawali police station in Kàngra district on Thursday.
Panalth village Pradhan Ramesh Chand stated in a media statement that a tractor carrying sand stopped while ascending a road in Panalath village under Jawali police station in the middle of the ascending road.
He said that there were three persons on the tractor including the tractor driver and two labourers. Sensing the threat of accident the three tried to jump but were trapped in between the tractor and the trolley and died on the spot. Local people came to the rescue but the trio could not be saved.
Police were informed and the bodies of all the three victims were sent to Nurpur Hospital.
The dead were identified as Romit Kumar, (32), resident of Panalth driver of the tractor. The other two labourers were identified as Sangam (23), resident of Fatehpur and Suraj, (27), resident of Jaint village of Indora of Kangra district.
Police is investigating the matter after a case was registered.
