District Magistrate Anupam Kashyap informed that the implementing agency has been directed to ensure pedestrian safety, particularly for school students, as this route is predominantly used by walkers. Special instructions have been issued to maintain clear pedestrian pathways and ensure proper barricading and signage during the construction period.
Although the road is primarily reserved for pedestrian movement, limited vehicular access is granted to VIPs with paid entry permits. The closure is expected to affect both pedestrians and authorized vehicles that rely on this route for daily movement to high-security zones.
Officials said that efforts are underway to complete the work within the stipulated timeframe to avoid further disruption in the core area of the capital. Commuters have been advised to use alternate routes and remain cautious while crossing near the construction zone.
