Shimla, May 7
Two died, and three were injured when five workers were trapped in an under-construction tunnel of 100 MW Tidong hydro project near Moorang of Kinnaur district today, a spokesperson of District Administration informed.
These ill fated five workers got trapped inside the tunnel due to rocks breaking during tunnel excavation. All victims got evacuated, where after two Chaman lal from Hamirpur district of the state and Xavier Surin from Ghumla district of Jharkhand State were declared dead. While among others, two Vikash Kumar and Vishal Kumar, both from Champaran in Bihar were admitted to Kinnaur hospital. One Paulus Guria from Jharkhand was admitted to Rampur Hospital, with serious injuries.
This project is in Rispa Moorang – Thangi , the area of Pooh from the district headquarters of Kinnaur Reckong-peo.
Probe ordered:
Evaluating the grave concern, a probe has been ordered into this incidence. In an order the Deputy Commissioner Kinnaur Abid Hussain , has ordered the ADM, Pooh to conduct a detailed magisterial enquiry into this matter, within a period of 7 days.
