Kullu, Sept 9
Two search rescue teams of 20 members have left and will travel for 48 hours to reach the site where the trekkers from West Bengal have gone missing. Giving update about the rescue mission, a spokesperson of the disaster managment authority informed that out of the total seven, 3 trekkers are safe whereas four are still missing.
Pertinent to mention that this morning reports had arrived Kullu that four trekkers have gone missing while exploring near peak Alirathni Tibba situated at a height of 5470 meters above sea level. Two members of trekking team and one cook had come back to Wachem(near Malana) and informed about the incident.
Those safe trekkers have been identified as Manoj Nath age 33 years, Lakpa Sherpa age 50 years and Aragya Mondol age 30 years.
The missing trekkers are told to be have been identified as Abhijit Banik, 43, Chinmoy Mondal, 43, Dibash Das, 37 and Binoy Das, 31.
District Administration has deployed two Search and rescue teams (20 personnel’s from Police, ABHIMAS & Shiva Rescue agency) along with ISAT Phone, has informed disaster management cell.
