Kullu farmers suffer- Cauliflower sells at Rs two per kg.

Farmers in Kullu district are suffering huge losses due to Corona crisis. Today Cauliflower in vegetable market of Bhuntar was sold at Rs 2 per kg. Farmers of the area state that they are suffering losses due to low sale prices.

Excellent quality of cauliflower is produced on hundreds of Bighas land in Kullu. There is a huge demand from neighboring states, but due to Corona infection, traders from outside are not coming to the mandis, inform local farmers Yashpal, Sunil Kumar, Ramsingh, Tejaram, Devi Singh, Govindaram, Vijay Kumar, Bhag Singh and Nimay Ram. In normal times prices of cauliflower in the mandis range from 25 to 30 rupees per kg. However during this period the best price earned has around six ruppees only, they added.
