24 die of Covid & 2,073 new cases tested +ve in HP

Shimla, April 24

Amid twenty-four deaths during the last twenty-four hours, as many as 2,073 more people were tested positive in the state of Himachal. The death toll till date to be 1,291.

Among those who lost their lives were sixteen males and eight females. Kangra district topped the list with eight deaths followed by Hamirpur-5, Mandi-3, two each in the districts of Shimla, Solan and Chmaba and one each in the districts of Una and Sirmaur, according to Nipun jindal, special secretary health.

He said that 2,073 new cases were detected during the last twenty-four hours and the number of active cases has risen to 13,411.

Kangra district topped the list with 360 new positive cases followed by Solan 317, Shimla, 269, Mandi 265, Hamirpur 194, Bilaspur 184, Una 142, Kullu 92, Chamba 31 and Lahaul and Spiti 5.

Besides, as many as 877 older patients were cured and their number rose to 71,396 on the night of Saturday.

The number of total positive cases in the state stood at 86,138.
