The young woman who has accused Churah BJP MLA Hans Raj of sexually exploiting her when she was a minor has questioned the silence of the BJP Mahila Morcha in Chamba district, drawing a parallel with protests by women and students over alleged injustices elsewhere, including at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

In a video released on social media late Monday night, the woman directly addressed the BJP Mahila Morcha president and women workers of Chamba, asking why they had not raised their voices in support of her despite the serious allegations against the legislator.

She questioned the apparent contrast between protests organised over women’s issues in Delhi and the absence of similar support in her own case. “You raise issues in Delhi. Girls in Delhi are being wronged, and wrongdoing is happening here. How many times have you raised your voice for me? How many times have you spoken for me?” she asked.

Invoking the principle of standing with students and women who raise their voices against alleged injustice, the complainant questioned whether political affiliation determined which victims received support. She said she felt alone and had not received the backing she expected from women in her own district.

The woman also referred to the case registered against Hans Raj under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, asking why BJP women’s wing members had not publicly intervened in her matter.

Her remarks have revived questions about the consistency of political protests on women’s safety and whether such campaigns are guided by principle or political convenience.

Hans Raj has denied the allegations. The case remains subject to judicial proceedings, and the charges against him have yet to be established through trial.
