Curfew shall continue in the state till May third and now on masks/face cover has been made compulsory. Also now all secretaries and administrative heads of the state owned department, PSUs and other autonomous bodies shall resume office with skeleton staff, informed Additional Chief secretary RD Dhiman in a press meet.
Briefing on the recent 9 patients who were declared cured in less than 14 day (known incubation period of COVID-19); he replied that all of these patients were asymptomatic from first day. Even though their first COVID-19 test had been found positive but further tests revealed negative. Therefore they were declared ‘cured’ but yet all are kept under quarantine for a period of another 14 days, to ensure completely. He said that as part of procedure all positive cases are to be tested again after 14 days, and if found negative only then shall be declared ‘cured’. Earlier the authorities had declared 9 patients negative and ‘cured’ in a period of less than 14 days of hospitalization.
He said that around 4000 to 45000 PPE kits are in stock with the state and many more are in pipeline of being procured. Adding, that the state has around 75 ventilators, “and more have been ordered,” stated Dhiman. He said their are 3 testing labs . Wherein 2 more are getting added in a couple of days, he revealed. One at IHBT Palampur, has almost been approved, and another is proposed at Ner Chownk Medical college, he informed.
He further stated that today 109 samples were taken. Of which barring 47 results (still awaited) all other have tested negative. Adding that till this hour no new positive case has been reported in the state.
