Shimla, Feb 5
The incessant spell of snow and rain has thrown life totally out of gear as even after a day of sunshine many roads across the State are yet blocked due to snow and ice. A police Spokesperson here shared the details of the roads effected or to be opened.
He said, following roads are currently blocked/partially open due to recent heavy snowfall.
In Shimla district 1. Victory Tunnel to Sanjauli & Dhalli (open for 4×4 vehicles only), 2. Shimla to Theog, 3. Shimla to Mashobra (Baldeyan), 4. Theog to Chopal, 5. Theog to Rohru, 6. Theog to Rampur, 7. Narkanda to Nankhari, 8. Rohru to Rampur (via Sungri) are effected.
In Chamba district 1. Roads from Khajjiar to Dalhousie via Lakkarmandi, 2. Chamba to Jot near Talai, 3. Chamba to Bharmour near Khadamukh
4. Chamba to Tissa near Atal Chowk Colony Mode
5. Chamba to Kihar near Dhar Gala, 6. Chamba to Pangi at Sach Pass (Remains close during winters) are closed.
In Sirmaur district, 1. Sangarh to Nohradhar & Haripurdhar, 2. Rajgarh to Nohradhar & Haripurdhar
3. Rajgarh to Habban are effected for smooth flow of traffic.
In Kullu district 1. Banjar to Aani at Jalori pass, 2. Solang nala to ATR (open for 4×4 emergency vehicles), 3. Manikaran to Barshaini roads are closed.
At Mandi district 1. Mandi to Karsog at Rohanda, 2. Janjehli – Chattari at Maggar galu, 3. Kandhi – Kataula are blocked due to snow.
In Lahaul-Spiti district 1. NH03: ATR to Keylong (open for 4×4 emergency vehicles), 2. NH505: Gramphu to Lossar (Remains close during winters), 3. Tandi Udaipur to Pangi (BRO at work). In Kangra district only one road is effected from Bir to Biling.
The spokesperson stated that “HP Traffic, Tourist and Railways Police appeals all concerned to avoid unnecessary traveling as roads are presently slippery due to snow. In any emergency, please contact 112 or nearest Police Station,” he added.
