The case of suspected ‘Monkeypox’ infection, reported from Baddi area of District Solan has been found negative in the report received from Pune. “So it is clear that the person did not have monkey pox,” confirmed a Health department spokesperson. The spokesperson said that in Himachal Pradesh, a case came to the notice of the Health Department from Baddi, District Solan, wherein Pox-like symptoms (chicken pox, small pox or other pox) were found in this person. As a precautionary measure, this person was isolated and surveillance was being done in his surrounding areas, in which no such case has come to light yet she added. The report of the said person has been received by the Health Department today, which is negative, added the health spokesperson.
Pertinent to mention, that a case of pox like symptoms had been reported from Baddi a few day before, which was being suspected as ‘monkeypox’.
Giving further information, the spokesperson urged to do not get confused about monkeypox and try to control the chances of infection by taking correct and fact-based information.
