CITU workers protest continues outside cement plants at Bharmana & Ambuja. Adani owned Bharmana and Ambuja Cement plants in Himachal Pradesh are witnessing stiff protests for the past 4 days as truckers and workers are seeking action against the lock out notice by the Corporate house.
CITU district Secretary Vajinder Mehra demanded today in a press statement that the government should now act under the Industrial Dispute Act as operations in both cement plants have not been restored by the Corporate house, till date.
Even the talks held on on December 15 between the company management with district administration and on December 17 of the administration and trucker unions failed to resolve the deadlock, he stated.
Mehra said that the Government should protect the interests of workers who are rendered jobless without proper notice. Adding, he demanded that the Government should take the control of both cement plants under Industrial dispute act to resume operations smoothly. He said that CITU is standing with affected thousands of truckers and Workers who are left on the road due to the powerful corporate house.
CITU had earlier already demanded FIR against the Adani Corporate house for monopolising the operation of both cement plants in the state.

The State government has directed Deputy Commissioners of Bilaspur and Solan district to hold talks , which have not borne any results, so far.
Meanwhile while tying to resolve the issue there have been reports that the Government’s stock of Cement is already drying up. Therefore taking remedial action the government has swapped the cement order from ACC & Ambuja to Ultra Tech Cement. The State Government on December 18 decided to cancelled a major order given to both the Cement plants.
