Shimla, April 18
The Himachal Pradesh based Indian climber Baljeet Kaur, reported missing on Mt. Annapurna, has been rescued from 7,363m above Camp IV. Talking to a media, the event organizers have informed that, Kaur suffered from frostbite and is being rushed to CIWEC hospital in Kathmandu for treatment.
Kaur, the daughter of a retired Himachal Road Transport Corporation driver, is highly respected in the mountaineering community. Kaur hails from Mamligh in Solan district of the hill state. She made history by becoming the first Indian woman to conquer Mount Dhaulagiri, which stands at an impressive 8,167m. Kaur had her sights set on Mount Everest and had embarked on a Mount Annapurna expedition (8,091m) on March 28.

However, the other Irish climber, Noel Hanna, a 10-time Everest summiteer from Northern Ireland, was brought to Kathmandu from Camp IV after he passed away at the camp following his return from the summit. The cause of his death has not been confirmed.
The Nepal-based media report stated that three other climbers, Shehroze Kashif, Naila Kiani from Pakistan, and Arjun Vajpai from India were also evacuated from Camp IV after falling ill during their descent from the summit. In another incident, Nepal Army Captain Suman Panday, who suffered from snow blindness at Camp III, has also been evacuated to Kathmandu for treatment.
They also informed that, the search continues for missing climber Anurag Maloo. Sherpa climbers are conducting a ground search for Maloo, who fell into a deep crevasse while descending from Camp III. An aerial search was also conducted yesterday to locate the missing climber, but there has been no news of his whereabouts, claimed the news report.
