Kullu Dussehra festival fire consumes eight tents, injures two
Kulku, Oct 28
A major fire erupted at the Dussehra festival ground in front of the court complex in Kullu today, resulting in significant damage. The district administration reported that numerous shops and tents were engulfed in flames during the Dussehra festival. Tragically, two individuals sustained burn injuries and have been hospitalized for treatment.
Local authorities revealed that several shoe and plastic shops suffered either partial or complete damage due to the fire. Moreover, the fire consumed seven to eight tents, which housed the ‘chariots’ used for gods and goddesses during the Kullu Dussehra festival. Additionally, the flames destroyed drums and musical instruments associated with some deities.
It’s worth noting that the ‘chariots’ had been relocated before the fire outbreak, and temporary arrangements have been put in place to assist those affected by this unfortunate incident.
