Speculations spark, as Congress central leadership skip HP Govt 1 yr ceremony
Shimla, Dec 12
Despite the Himachal Pradesh (HP) Government’s claims that the Congress party’s central leadership, including party secretary Priyanka Gandhi, would attend the one-year completion program in Kangra, they were conspicuously missing from the ceremony. Priyanka Gandhi’s absence, in particular, has sparked inquiries among party workers and the general public.
Notably, HP Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu had recently announced the participation of the party’s central leadership in the public event. However, it seems that Ms. Gandhi decided to stay away, even though she was in Shimla during the period.
The decision by the Gandhi family to skip the event raises questions about whether the central leadership is dissatisfied with the performance of the current regime or if there is some disagreement that kept them away.
Commenting on the matter, BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal pointed out that Priyanka’s presence at the rally could have provided answers to the public regarding the Congress party’s ten guarantees. He specifically mentioned Gandhi’s promise to create one lakh jobs in the first cabinet, asserting that approximately 70,000 posts are still vacant, and only 30,000 have been generated.
The absence of the Congress party’s central leadership, especially Priyanka Gandhi, from the event leaves room for speculation and hints at possible internal issues within the party.
