Shimla, Mar 22
In a press conference held at the Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan, Congress Members of Parliament from Mandi, along with party state president Pratibha Singh, refuted recent media reports suggesting a lack of confidence within the party regarding the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the state.
Singh categorically denied making any statements indicating an anticipated loss for the party in the elections or questioning the morale of party workers. She criticized media channels for misrepresenting her remarks and urged them not to distort her words.

Addressing media queries, Singh emphasized her belief in the Congress’s ability to secure victory in the Lok Sabha polls both at the state and national levels. She dismissed any insinuations suggesting otherwise.
Backing Singh’s stance, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu reaffirmed the strength of the Congress party in the state and highlighted the support it enjoys from the people, particularly in light of alleged attempts by the BJP to destabilize the government.
Sukhu criticized the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, denouncing it as a violation of constitutional norms. He accused the BJP of using central agencies to target opposition leaders, warning against the dangerous precedent it sets.
Regarding the recent resignation of three independent members of the legislative assembly, Sukhu expressed surprise, stating that their decision was unknown to him. He asserted that none of the independent MLAs are under the control of either the BJP or Congress, questioning the circumstances surrounding their sudden departure.
Sukhu criticized the conduct of the resigned MLAs, accusing them of abandoning their constituents without explanation. He alleged their involvement in questionable deals and noted their absence from the state, staying in luxury hotels alongside six disqualified MLAs.
Singh and Sukhu reiterated their confidence in the Congress party’s prospects in the upcoming elections and called for media outlets to report accurately without sensationalizing or distorting facts.
