As per information by local authorities, the Darcha-Shinkula Road, a vital artery through these majestic mountains, is now partially accessible. Open for one-way traffic from Darcha towards Shinkula (Zanskar). Traffic would be permitted from 0700hrs to 1400hrs only. Alternate days would determine vehicle movement and in case of rainfall or snowfall, passage will be restricted, they informed.
As tourist season is peaking in Lahaul & Spiti district, it crucial that visitors keeps informed in these areas due to the unpredictable weather and conditions here, stated a local spokesperson. It is important to stay informed and prepared for the road conditions in this tribal area of Himachal Pradesh. The recent heavy snowfall has impacted roadways, necessitating regulated traffic movements and precautions to ensure your safety, they added.
