Exposing poor health conditions during Pandemic in the premier mother-child Kamala Nehru Hospital (KNH), sewerage water flooded the Neonatal Ceasurian wards on night of June 6 forcing 30 patients and others attendants to face the menace.
On the call of patients CPI(M) Secretariat member Dr Kuldeep Tanwar rushed to the spot and found more than 45 women in pathetic condition. He alleged shear wastage of public funds on the Rs 17 Cr newly dedicated hospital unit was exposed by the incidence as water rushed inside wards after choking of hospital bathrooms and toilets on the night of Jun 6.
He said that due to poor quality construction and choking of the water drainage menace was witnessed in the section of hospital where the new born babies and mothers are housed after the Ceasurian in Neonatal ward.
He said that two wards of the hospital are dedicated ito Covid 19 patient in the hospital burdening the limited staff of hospital to work over time and in a neglected way. He said that there shortage of sanitizers and safety equipment to the staff and patients which is forcing the Covid warrier to work in unsafe conditions, he alleged.
He said that Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital also called Ripon was fully dedicated to the Covid 19 therefore the increased rush of patients is pouring on the 45 beded KNH hospital.
He said that sanitation, staff shortage and lack of beds in the KNH hospital is forcing the patient to live in inhospitable condition and apathy of poor infrastructure is wreaking havoc on them.
He said that government is highly apathetic towards the general public, hospital staff and patients as they are living in horrific condition during the lockdown. Tanwar also sent a memorandum to Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur highlighting the apathetic state of the premier mother-child Kamala Nehru Hospital today, he added.
