The HPTDC volvo buses are back on road to ferry tourists after a halt of nearly 10 months. Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation has started its Volvo bus operation on Manali -Delhi and Shimla – Delhi routes, informed a Senior Officer of Corporation here on Saturday.
Managing Director of HPTDC Kumad Singh informed that operation of Volvo services has been resumed after remaining off for more than ten months due to Covid pandemic on the interstate route. She said that with increasing influx of tourist the service would provide an additional mode of travel for more, who are willing to visit hill state.
She informed that special instructions have been issued to ensure strict compliance of SOPs for operation of Volvo services.
Timings and place of pick-ups
She said that Shimla-New Delhi VOLVO could be board from victory tunnel and vice versa from Himachal Bhawan at 2030 hrs at the rate of Rs 1000 per person daily.
Similarly Manali-New Delhi Volvo Services from Manali bustand at 1730 hrs and New Delhi – Manali at Himachal Bhawan at 1830 hrs at Rs 1600 per person. HPTDC takes special care of the passengers travelling in our buses.
SOP to be followed
SOPs have issued by the Govt for operation of bus services and buses are properly being sanitized before the journey. Thermal scanning of passengers would be done before boarding the passengers and all travelers will have to wear face masks and avoid unnecessary gathering and crowd in the vehicle, she added.
State hospitality industry suffered unrecoverable losses last year. As the industry was virtually halted till months (September) due to closing down all interstate tourism travel and Transport service by the government.
HPTDC owns about sixty luxurious and high end restaurants and hotels in the state which attracts lacs of tourist and visitors and remained hundred percent occupied round the year.
Tourism is backbone of hill Economy as around 1.75 Cr footfall of tourist are registered every year.
