Shimla, Aug 4
Opposition Congress staged walkout from the state assembly on Wednesday as they were not allowed to raise the issue of prevailing nepotism and backdoor entry in the state services during the present BJP rule.
As the house assembled for the question hour on 3rd day of Monsoon session Cong members including Leader of Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri said they want to raise the prevailing issue of backdoor entry and outsource recruitment on the basis of nepotism. Congress members said that the Government is recruiting people on pick and choose basis on the pretext of outsourcing and more than 5000 people were recruited from a particular assembly segment.
Speaker Vipin Singh Parmar said that a notice was received by him this morning under rule 67 by Congress member Mukesh Agnihotri, Asha Kumari, Sukvhinder Singh Sukhu and Rajinder Rana this morning.
He said that members wanted to raise the issue of Nepotism, large number of backdoor entry in the state services. Rejecting the notice Speaker said that the issues have been raised by Mukesh Agnihotri, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Vikaramaditya Singh in postponed question number 2641 on August 2 and a detail information was provided
by the government.
Mukesh Agnihotri said that speaker should gave protection to them as the question number 2641 was referring to unemployment, not on the back door appointment issue. Congress members kept on raising the issue and shouted slogans, when speaker commenced question hour, agitated Cong members walked out from the assembly and boycotted the question hour.
Replying to walkout Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that no issues could be raised in house without following Vidhan Sabha rules moreover the chair has right to accept and reject such notices.
” Instead of abiding by the ruling of chair, opposition members are indulged in violating it. The appointment on outsource basis is not being followed by his govt but previous Cong rule also appointed number of employees on the outsource basis. Previous Cong rule had also promised outsource employees to bring a regularization policy.” added Thakur.
Chief Minister said that opposition members are trying to walk out from the assembly time and again to grab the media attention. Thakur alleged that Congress party is in deep crisis for leadership, is disrupting the proceedings frequently in the race to get mileage in their own party.
