The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has established a six-member panel to facilitate coordination between the government and party organization perhaps, following the recent developments in the Rajya Sabha poll and subsequent disqualification of six Congress MLAs.
Though the party did not clarify the reason for this action, however in a statement released by K C Venugopal, the General Secretary of the Party, it was announced that the Congress President has given approval to the proposal for the formation of a coordination committee aimed at enhancing cooperation between the Government and the Organization in Himachal Pradesh, effective immediately.
The members of the committee include Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, State Party Chief Pratibha Singh, Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri, former State Party President Kaul Singh Thakur, Health Minister Dhaniram Shandil, and former Minister Ram Lal Thakur.
Recent meetings with the State party unit and MLAs have seen the participation of central observers, including Karnataka Deputy Chief Dr. Shivkumar, former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Bhagel, and Rajiv Shukla. They have submitted a report to the AICC attributing the current political crisis and lack of coordination to the party government and unit. The central observers have recommended the formation of a coordination panel to address the concerns of party workers. The panel will facilitate regular interactions between the Government and the party to ensure the effective functioning of the government and bolster the party’s strength.
