Anonymous letter reveals paper leaks in HPPSC

Shimla, July 4
In one of the major revelations which came into the public domain today, Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission is facing accusations of paper leak on the line of Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission Hamirpur (already disbanded by the Present Congress Government after confirmation of more than two dozen paper leak cases).
According to a anonymous letter being circulated in the Social Media today revealed that on the analogy of HPSSC Hamirpur, papers are being leaked by some officials and employees of HPPSC Shimla as an alleged complaint was being addressed to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and State police chief.
The complaints revealed that Deputy Secretary of HPPSC, Yog Raj Sharma, Soma Rana, Duman and PA of HPPSC Secretary Rakesh Thakur ( who were looking after the secrecy branch of HPPSC) are selectively leaking the paper in lieu of money to relatives of officers and employees of commission. The letter revealed that one executive level HPPCL officer was shortlisted in the interview under the similar modus operandi. The complaints revealed that this racket of paper leak has continued for the last two years. The allegations are yet to be proven by the state agencies accusing its member for favouritism.
The letters revealed that some officials and an influential police officer whose wards are easily qualified for the written examination are facilitated by the staff members of the HPPSC whose names are being revealed in the letter. The complaints state that beneficiaries of such paper leaks are mediocre in academic career as they secured passing marks in low grade in plus two and Matric, but surprising qualified the written examination by HPPSC in high grades.
The two paged letter was written by some Gaurav Chauhan, Ranesh and Dipti Negi.
The State Police officiating DGP Satwant Atwal confirmed of the anonymous letter. She said that though HPPSC is an autonomous body but action would be taken under the prescribed rules on the complaint.
It is not the first occasion when HPPSC has gathered controversy but similar complaints were also addressed to State government previously revealing tempering of recruitment process of written examination and passing out of the candidates without appearing in the examination. However, the HPPSC later clarified that a candidate appearing in the music subject who was ward with physical disability appeared in a separate room who qualified the examination.

The State Government has decided to handover the recruitment process of HPSSC Hamirpur to HPPSC Shimla. Number of scheduled examinations of HPSSC being conducted by the HPPSC however with this development it is very hard to trust any of the public recruitment agencies and youth who are waiting their results and preparing for the upcoming written examination may be upset again.
It is worthwhile to mention that some members of the commission were found in violation of their duty code as they were attending political functions and government conclaves. The appointment process of its members has also remained flip flop and a number of controversies have racked time and again in the commission.
