A distress call was made by a resident of Housing Board colony phase 2 Baddi, to Himachal Scape seeking help on twitter regarding interruption in water supply from Sunday (May 3, 2020).
Amidst the #COVID-19 crises, cleanliness is the utmost priority and time and again stress in laid on it but ironically in the absence of water supply, its wastage is a luxury that none can afford.
Commenting on the issue Superintending Engineer Solan Keshav Ram, informed that colony comes under HIMUDA and hence they have their own water supply. Adding, “We are fighting in such dangerous zone and providing with service inspite of life threatening situations is our duty. We will take immediate measure and restore the water supply”, he added.
Whereas Rajesh Thakur, Executive Engineer HIMUDA said that the water boring motor was burnt due to which water supply was effected. Being sealed area, it was difficult to get immediate repair done. However, next day the issue was resolved even though there was problem in one of the pipes but the houses connected with it were provided with water through tankers. Today morning even that line was repaired and now there is no shortage of water in the colony, he added.
