Shimla, Jan 15
The Chandigarh- Manali National Highway no-3 was closed due to landslide, which occurred near Mandi town this afternoon. Mandi police informed the commuters that landslide has occurred between teen and panch mile between Mandi and Pandoh.
SP Shalini Agnihotri said that due to the landslide, there is a risk of falling of stones. The work of clearing the debris from the road is going on, but if more comes from the mountain, then people may have to wait till evening.
Till then, arrangements have been made for small vehicles and emergency vehicles to exit from the alternative road.
The landslide occurred due to recent rainfall and widening of NH. The traffic was diverted for vehicles light vehicles from Mandi’s Bhiyuli Chowk to Bajaura via Kataula Road. People going to Chandigarh-Delhi have been requested to leave via Chailchowk via Pandoh.
