Focusing upon the coming Assembly Election Himachal Pradesh Council of Ministers here today decided to approve a draft of legislation to provide ownership rights to Slumdweller in the state. Himachal Pradesh cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of CM Jai Ram Thakur, here today. In the same, a big relief to the slum dwellers living in all the districts of the state, has been provided. Approval has been given to provide ownership rights. However, the ownership rights will be given only to those who have possession after 1974. Besides, these people will not be able to sell this land to anyone further.
Another decision taken in today’s meeting is the appointment of Media Contact Coordinator in Delhi. Given the oncoming elections, the government has decided to appoint a media coordinator in Delhi. The media coordinator will be given a monthly salary of Rs 90,000.
The government has also given its approval to set the room rent capping for ministers, MLAs, Speaker of the Assembly, Deputy Speaker, etc outside the state @Rs 7500. The government has set an annual upper limit of ₹ 4 lakh for the same. This facility will be available in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Mumbai.
Besides, the state government has implemented the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission for the employees. Three options have been provided so that there is no interruption in the financial benefits of the employees. The government has already implemented the option of 15 pc. But the cabinet’s approval was taken today. The government had provided options of 2.25 and 2.59 per cent. The employees were not happy with this option, and have been opposing it for a long time and were demanding a new option. The government has provided an option of 15 per cent to the employees on the lines of Punjab.
