Shimla, June 12
The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) in Himachal Pradesh has expressed unanimous support for Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and passed several significant resolutions during a meeting held at the ruling party lodge within the Legislative Assembly premises on Wednesday. The meeting, chaired by CM Sukhu, was attended by Congress State President Pratibha Singh and all 38 MLAs of the Congress Legislature Party.
The CLP passed three main resolutions, showcasing strong backing for the current leadership and addressing pressing state issues.  First and foremost, the CLP called for an expedited investigation into those allegedly conspiring to topple the state government. This resolution underscores the party’s commitment to maintaining stability and addressing any threats to its governance.
Additionally, the CLP expressed gratitude to the people of Himachal Pradesh for the party’s recent electoral successes. The Congress won four seats in the state assembly by-elections and saw a remarkable 14 per cent increase in its vote percentage in the Lok Sabha elections.
This performance was attributed to the effective leadership of CM Sukhu, further solidifying the party’s confidence in his direction. In another key resolution, the CLP emphasized its trust in CM Sukhu’s leadership.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Harsh Vardhan Chauhan stated that the party stands united and fully supportive of the Chief Minister, committing to continue this solidarity in the future.
Addressing the issue of water supply to Delhi, CM Sukhu affirmed that Himachal Pradesh is prepared to provide water to the national capital. He mentioned that the state government has already issued orders to this effect and has instructed legal representatives to inform the Supreme Court accordingly.
Sukhu expressed confusion over the Supreme Court’s reprimand, asserting that Himachal Pradesh is ready to release the water, which needs to pass through Haryana. CM also noted that providing water to Delhi is a noble act, given its status as the country’s capital. He pledged to gather information about any possible misinformation provided to the Supreme Court that might have led to the reprimand.
In conclusion, the CLP meeting showcased robust support for CM Sukhu, highlighted the party’s electoral achievements, and addressed the logistical and legal issues concerning the provision of water to Delhi.
